You might be wondering why The Lab? It seems like an odd clinical choice – especially when the focus is on fresh, wholesome, straight from the earth food. Here’s the thing, cooking, even with a recipe, is experimentation.

Our ancestors may not have worn lab coats, but some brave soul decided to pick up a snail and eat it. Thanks to that brave person and the many that followed, we humans have a diverse and rich culinary repertoire.

The Nutrichologist Lab puts you and your apron somewhere between a loin cloth and a lab coat. In this Lab we tap into curiosity, fun and connecting with our food. We set aside judgement, fear of failure and turn it into healthy and nourishing, fun filled meals. (Except snails, there will be no snail eating).

I’m so glad you’re here to learn, make mistakes, grow, and flex those culinary skills.

So that’s me – Dawn, lover of good food, walking and (not sure if you need to know this, but what the heck) zombie shows. My passion however is all about the power of mind, body and nutrition. Having come from years of ill health and learning how to take care of my body simply by changing my thoughts, actions and food was nothing short of a miracle. It set me off on a 10 year journey that I am happy to say I am nowhere near ending.

My studies in culinary nutrition and health coaching were the beginning of what I now call my life purpose. It gave me the knowledge and ability to share with others and help them on their own path to healthy eating and living.

The Lab is a dream I have had for many years and I am so excited to be here and to share with all of you. So if you are looking for a no fluff, dry humoured instructor to guide and teach you the ways of healthy eating, then all I can say is welcome and I cannot wait to get to know you better!

Any course you do with Nutrichologist, whether I get to meet you in person at one of the live classes or we reach over the inter-webs and connect, there will always be one constant: this is a space where we learn and grow from the space you are in now. In the wise words of Brene Brown, “There is no innovation and creativity without failure. Period”.

There will be no crazy diet culture theories, and the focus will always remain on food that’s good for you and the planet. With every dish we prepare we will be incorporating nutrient dense foods.

Yes, all recipes will be plant based with the option of adding or incorporating your favourite protein source.

Yes. All the recipes included in the course are plant based with options for additions or substitutions. Some of these ingredients may include items like honey or ghee, but in most cases there will be a vegan swop out available. However, it must be noted that the courses are not vegan specific.

Once you have signed up for the course you have will have the opportunity to download the recipes for your personal use. If you don’t manage to make all of them during the course, you can always schedule them into your meal plans in the future.

This will depend on your schedule and how much time you are able to set aside. Keep in mind that you will have continued access to the course for a minimum of 12 months once it has completed.
